I don't suppose anyone out there has tried an awakened animal PC or NPC? If so, I'd love to hear about it. Maybe a house rule so that casting it with a higher slot could also boost Charisma. I feel like Awaken should raise Charisma to 10, too. Bard wouldn't be a good choice, though, since an ape only has a 7 Charisma. Druid sounds more interesting though, if only because I'm wondering if he could Wild Shape into a human.īards can also cast Awaken, which seems a bit odd to me. Choosing Ranger would be similar if he has a more martial bent to his personality. A Druid is the most likely choice for the origin of his intelligence, though, so following in his benefactor's footsteps would make sense. Ranger or Druid could also work, though his 12 Wisdom wouldn't make him a great spell-caster out of the gate. And I could definitely see a monastery taking in and raising an infant gorilla if he was awakened early in life. Monk might seem like an odd choice, but he'd get a slight boost to his unarmored AC and wouldn't have to worry so much about armor or weapons. Barbarian seems like a gimme, and I've got nothing against the idea, but I'm not a fan of the Berserker, and the idea of an ape choosing a Totem animal just strikes me as odd. They might like the novelty of being the more socially acceptable member of a group for once. Maybe he could make some Tiefling or Half-Orc friends. Trustworthy companions would help quite a bit in navigating through the civilized world, of course. Given the remarkable things disabled humans are able to do using just their feet, I'm confident an intelligent ape could accomplish quite a few things that their unintelligent cousins would find impossible. I'm certain he could manage hide armor, at the very least. Armor should be possible, too, at least something relatively simple like a chain shirt or even a breastplate. I don't know if they have the grip strength to use proper weapons, but I'm sure that a good D&D blacksmith could come up with something like a cestus or brass knuckles that an ape could use. They have better hands than most animals, though not up to human standards. Especially when they start talking, of course. They're humanoid, so they'd probably be more easily accepted as intelligent by the public at large. ![]() I think a gorilla would work pretty well, really. There are worse choices than a gorilla, is what I'm saying. Or possibly a rhino, after seeing that video of the zoo-break in Israel. I mean, my backup choices would be a bear or an elephant. An ape's Int is too high for the Awaken spell, but I'd bet most GMs would overlook that if they'd be willing to allow awakened animal PCs at all. I really and truly want to play an awakened gorilla. ![]()

![]() ![]() It might seem a shame to meet your new favorite actor via a vampires-on-a-plane action picture, but horror has long brought five-star performances out of five-star actors, and "Blood Red Sky" is no different. But after he blows you away in "Blood Red Sky," what you want to check out after that is "Tod den Hippies!! The reflectivity of the water is very high. Some of them will be absorbed, and some will bounce off the surface of the drops and create visual "noise" on the monitor of the night vision monocular. Each particle of water will interfere with the passage of photons of light. Now let's make the situation worse - it's raining. Near the sea, the contours of objects will be softer and blurred on the screen of the same night vision binoculars. A more contrasting and clearer picture will be on night vision binoculars in the mountains. For example, let's take the air of the sea coast and alpine air. The clearer the air and less saturated with water vapor, the more precise the image on the screen. They create the effect of partial absorption of light by the atmosphere and cause the photons to scatter. Light travels in the atmosphere, not in a vacuum.Ĭonsequently, impurities of gases, dust, the smallest particles of water will interfere with the passage of light. For a perfect image, nothing should interfere with the passage of light photons. The light travels the distance from the subject to the lens of the night vision goggles. On a night vision monitor, we see the light reflected from objects. Night vision equipment and a thermal imager display the picture on the screen differently. How does a night vision device work when it rains? It is a heat map of the area to which the device is directed. The thermal sensor measures and the processor processes the data and forms a picture. The lenses of the thermal imager capture the minor heat radiation. All thermal imaging devices are capable of recording this temperature. In simpler terms, you can measure the temperature of any object, even a cold one. It is based on the property of any object with a temperature above absolute zero to emit thermal energy. TV technology uses an entirely different principle. This light forms an image on the screen of night vision equipment. The latter bombard the phosphor screen, which causes the emission of photons of light. That is, an increase in the amount of energy occurs. Electrons enter the microchannel plate and cause an additional emission of electrons. The collected light enters the photocathode, where it is converted into electrons. The lenses of the device are capable of capturing the most inefficient light radiation invisible to the eye. NV technology involves capturing and enhancing weak night light reflected from objects. We also investigate the factors that should be considered when choosing in favor of night vision optics or thermal imaging devices. ![]() Let's decide which of them will work better in rainy weather. Afterward, there will be four pricing plans: Free, Monthly, Yearly, and Enterprise. To experience the full potential of the service, start using the beta version for free right now. ![]() We just took a quick look at the main advantages of private AdGuard DNS. In addition to options such as "adult content" blocking and safe search, we've added the ability to manually specify domains for blocking and set a schedule for the Parental control to work accordingly. To protect your child from online content you deem inappropriate, set up and activate the Parental control option. You can see the total number and geography of requests, the number of blocked requests and a list of companies the requests were addressed to both in the summary table and in separate tabs with detailed statistical information. There are a lot of things in life we can't control, but fortunately, this doesn't apply to DNS queries made by devices connected to private AdGuard DNS. Note, that you can import up to 1000 custom blocking rules. Here you can also manually enter custom rules and export the list. If you have a list of DNS filtering rules, you can upload it to the service and activate it. This will work the same way as the public AdGuard DNS, but with one change: now it's your decision, not AdGuard's.įor those who aren't satisfied with dozens of pre-installed Blocklists with thousands of rules, we've provided a handy function to import custom rules. With the private DNS server, you'll be able to set which domains you want to block and which you don't. You can set up your private DNS server manually, but using the AdGuard apps for this purpose will make the process much quicker and easier. Now, anyone who can read the on-screen prompts will have their own DNS server in less than a minute! In the past, setting up a private DNS server was probably something only true "geeks" could do. We can say that private AdGuard DNS appeared at the meeting point of these two products and took only the best features from both of them. These solutions worked for some users, but for many of them, the public AdGuard DNS lacked the flexibility of configuration, while the AdGuard Home lacked simplicity. A simple browser-based ad blocker will not protect you in this case, but AdGuard DNS, which you can set up to filter traffic, block content and trackers, can help.Įarlier, we were able to offer either a public AdGuard DNS server or AdGuard Home for "cleaning up the Internet". But along with the undeniable conveniences you get trackers and ads. Today, you can connect anything to the Internet: TVs, refrigerators, smart bulbs, or speakers. There's no need to create a new account if you have already created one before, for example, to use AdGuard Ad Blocker or AdGuard VPN.Īfter entering credentials, you can start using AdGuard DNS! Connect any computer, smartphone, or router to AdGuard DNS in just a few clicks - and flexibly manage the settings for each of them. To take part in beta testing go to AdGuard DNS website and press Join beta at the top right corner of the screen, then sign up or sign into AdGuard account. Some time ago we've announced plans for a private AdGuard DNS, and now we are finally ready to move to the next level and start the stage of public testing of the private AdGuard DNS beta version! From the year 2016 to today, AdGuard DNS has come a long way from one-server standalone service to a full-fledged product with more than 50 servers in 15+ locations. ![]() ![]() Do I love my mother?
